An IT Coordinator for Networking is responsible for maintaining and managing an organization's computer networks, including hardware, software, and security. Key duties include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network equipment like routers and switches; monitoring network performance and security; providing technical support for network issues; and performing maintenance tasks such as updates and data backups. They also assist with IT project coordination, budgeting, and vendor management.

Network Management and Maintenance:Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software. Perform routine maintenance, including software updates and security patching.

Troubleshooting and Support:Provide first-level technical support for network-related problems, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and escalate complex problems to senior engineers.

Security and Data:Manage network security, administer firewalls and anti-virus solutions, and perform data backups and restoration.

Monitoring:Monitor network performance and security to ensure stable operations.

Project Coordination:Assist in IT projects, such as network roll-outs and upgrades, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams.

Documentation:Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. Maintain records of software licenses, warranties, and hardware inventory.

Procurement:Assist with IT budgeting, procure new hardware/software, and manage vendor relationships.

Training:Provide technical support and training to end-users on new systems and network policies.

- Hardware & Infrastructure: Experience configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and understanding network cabling and infrastructure.
- Wireless Networking: Proficiency with Wi-Fi standards, access point configuration, and wireless security.
- Network Security: Knowledge of security principles like firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists.
- Troubleshooting & Monitoring: Ability to diagnose issues using tools like ping, tracert, and Wireshark, and experience with network monitoring tools.
- Network Design: Ability to design networks for scalability, security, and performance.
- Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and services.
- Server Administration: Basic knowledge of server operating systems (Windows, Linux) and their networking-related services.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify, analyze, and solve network problems.
- Communication: Excellent skills for conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, and for coordinating with others.
- Project Management: Skills to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously.
