Job Purpose :
The position is responsible for implementing and supervising accounting procedures as well as the administrative and clerical services of the company; With the Objective to ensure effective accounting procedures that are in accordance with international best practices as well as internal standards.
Key Responsibilites :
Planning & Implementation
‒ Work closely with the Finance Manager to establish the accounting policies and procedures.
‒ Lead the implementation of the accounting procedures.
‒ Facilitate and complete monthly and annual close procedures.
‒ Direct and coordinate daily accounting activities to staff and monitor their performance.
‒ Review vouchers and supporting documents pertaining to transactions for audit trail maintenance.
‒ Monitor the maintenance of the GL in system and ensure its accuracy.
‒ Overlook the accurate and timely recording of income, expenses, receivables and payables.
‒ Resolve complex accounting issues and help other junior members to resolve issues.
‒ Prepare and Review JVs/PVs etc.
‒ Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
Compliance
‒ Monitor team members to ensure adherence to internal control policies and procedures.
‒ Conduct surprise audits of the accounts department on a regular basis.
‒ Review transactions, bank reconciliation records and other important documentation.
‒ Ensure document approvals in accordance with the authority matrix.
‒ Review accounting procedures on a regular basis to make improvements.
Preparation and Review of Management reports
‒ Coordinate with external auditors during the annual statutory audit.
‒ Prepare the consolidated monthly accounts.
‒ Provide the data required by the auditors during the course of external audit.
Prepare monthly record of banking and cash flow activities.
Qualifications and Experience :
‒ Bachelors in Accounting .
‒ +3 years experience
